I grew up in the small town of Grant Park Illinois where I played sports and was involved in various clubs.  As a junior I joined the Army National Guard for a 6 year commitment.  I attended Olivet Nazarene University on a football scholarship, halfway through my first semester I was deployed to Germany for over a year as a Military Police Officer.  Shortly after returning from that mission I was deployed to New Orleans to assist with Hurricane Katrina relief efforts.  After over 2 years of deployments I was able to return to and complete my degree in PE, Health and Drivers Education.

My first teaching position was in Depue School District, while there I attended night school at Concordia University in Chicago for a degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on Administration.  4 years later I was hired as the dean of students and athletic director for Depue School District, I then moved on to the position of high school principal in Prophetstown for 3 years.

I am currently the Director at the Whiteside Career Center.  Through this position I have been involved with many economic development groups and educational panels throughout the state.

I am excited for my term on the Sterling City Council, I look forward to working with the public and the rest of the council to make the best impact on Sterling as possible.
