City Utilities
The City of Sterling operates the sewer utility, while private companies provide the City with all other utilities. For your convenience, we've provided the contact information for each of the utility providers.
Cable
Comcast is our cable television provider. You can reach their local office to schedule an installation time at 1-800-266-2278 or online.
Electric
Sterling's electric is provided by ComEd. They may be reached toll-free at 800-334-7661 or online.
Natural Gas
Nicor provides natural gas service to the area. You can reach them toll-free at 888-642-6748 for service or online.
Sewer
The City of Sterling provides wastewater treatment services. For service regarding your account, call (815) 632-6632. Note: It is not necessary to sign up for a sewer account. Your account is automatically created when your water service is set up.
Solid Waste
The City of Sterling contracts with Rock Valley Disposal for solid waste services. Rock Valley Disposal can be reached at (815) 625-1281.
Telephone
Comcast is the local phone service provider for our region. To establish phone service, call 1-800-266-2278 or check out Comcast's website.
Water
Water is provided by Illinois-American Water Company. For service, please call (815) 625-0017 or visit their website. Billing will be changed after April 2012. Information relating to water billing will be released soon.
Internet
There are two options available for internet service in Sterling. Cable internet is available through Comcast while DSL and wireless interest is available through T6. To establish Comcast internet service, please call 1-800-266-2278 or check out Comcast's website. The other option for internet service is T6.
